Sorbsan dressings are made of calcium alginate fibres, with a non-woven structure which maximises absorption. Sorbsan has a high proportion of Mannuronic Acid and so when in contact with wound exudate the fibres of Sorbsan swell to form a soft, amorphous sodium-calcium alginate gel. Suitable for both acute and chronic wounds.
